The booming of high powered assault rifles shook the atmosphere. With every volley of gunfire, concentric waves would appear in the murky puddles beneath our feet. Concrete walls amplified the report of our weapons as we fired upon frail paper targets just ten meters away. This past week, Cadets from team 10 in Romania had the opportunity to throw some lead down range with the Jandarmarie, one of two police forces in Bucharest. For some Cadets, this was their first time firing live rounds with weapons like the H&K MP5 and the 9mm USP. “I think I may have found a new hobby”, said Cadet Gavin Nadong. “It was probably one of the most fun days we have had so far”.
